Oh, the memories of getting to lick the spoon!
Cake batter is one of my favorite flavors! It’s probably because I’m instantly reminded of my childhood, making cakes with my mom and getting to lick the spoon after the cake batter was put into the designated pans. She made sure to leave a generous amount of cake batter just for me!

Grand Champion!
My mom introduced me to baking at an early age. Not only did we bake for fun, but we got to bake for competition at our county fair every year. It was called 4-H. There were tons of other projects, like quilting, vegetables, gift wrapping, etc. No project could compare to baking, of course!
Future Food Blogger
I remember working for days and weeks trying to perfect the recipe before turning it in to be judged. This included: weighing all the cookies before baking to ensure they were the same size, baking cake after cake until it was perfectly fluffy and moist, and getting up super early the day of judging just to make sure that it was as fresh as possible. This started molding me into a love for desserts and the importance of presentation, flavor and textures.
Baking for charity, in memory of my grandpa
Baking was a great project and not only was it fun just to bake and compete for that envied Grand Champion, but our county fair had a special scholarship program for the baking project. On the first Friday night of fair week, we got to show off our freshly baked goods. They were auctioned off at pretty nice prices. I remember one year, my King’s Cake sold for over $1,000 and that was just mine. There were many other prized desserts that went for equally steep prices.
Food Auction Scholarships!
All proceeds went to the scholarship program, which funded 4-H kids to go to college. This scholarship program was very close to my heart. It was in memory of my grandpa. He was in charge of the 4-H program and had a huge part in developing the youth of our county. He absolutely loved children and even though I never got to meet him, I know he would have appreciated my interest in the program and love for 4-H and baking.
Everyone Loves Cake Batter!
Cake batter is a flavor that brings me joy and great memories, but I’m not the only one who loves this fantastic flavor. Yes, I’m talking about YOU! Am I wrong, or does everyone seems to love and indulge in anything that’s flavored, cake batter. There’s cake batter cookies, ice cream, frosting, brownies and the list goes on and on. Frozen yogurt will be the topic of today’s discussion!
Skip the Fat!
You will love that you can get a nice size bowl of this delicious frozen yogurt and not have to worry about the excessive calories since you can use non-fat cream cheese and non fat Greek yogurt! This frozen yogurt is super creamy for not having a lot of sugar. Thank you non-fat cream cheese! I honestly could eat this as a meal, but then my daughter wouldn’t be very happy with me if she didn’t get any. She shares my love of sweets and I’m looking forward to creating great memories for her, baking with her mom. Family is such a blessing!
Please share with me your cake batter memories and other creative ways you like to use this flavor!
Follow this Easy Recipe!
Just a little helpful hint… Add all the ingredients in your food processor. We started these recipes using a blender but soon found out the food processor is the way to go. It’s easier to scoop out of a food processor than a blender. I use an older version that works but someday I would like the one that has a bowl scraper. Click on the links to see what’s on my wish list!
Put all ingredients in a food processor.
Blend!
Hand mix Sprinkles!
Go ahead and lick the spoon! After indulging, pour batter into a freezer safe container and cover.
After 6 hours, add more sprinkles & ENJOY!!!
